Процесс Рутилия Руфа и его политический контекст

В статье рассматриваются обстоятельства процесса П. Рутилия Руфа 93 или 92 г. до н.э. Автор приходит к выводу, что причиной осуждения Рутилия стало недовольство не только всадников или Мария, как обычно считается, а целой группы влиятельных сенаторов – помимо Мария, основания для недовольства действиями Рутилия в качестве легата наместника провинции Азия имели также консуляры Эмилий Скавр (принцепс сената!) и Маний Аквилий. Именно их позиция, очевидно, предопределила приговор всаднического суда, члены которого вряд ли бы решились по своей воле осудить консуляра Рутилия.
