Культ монаха Пафнутия в позднеантичном Египте

Статья посвящена исследованию почитания монаха Пафнутия в позднеантичном Египте. Автор приходит к выводу, что в Египте в период поздней античности почитались два монаха с таким именем: игумен монастыря Тавенниси и монах, которого считали автором Жития св. Онуфрия. Однако ни одна, ни другая традиция в поздней античности не засвидетельствована агиографическим нарративом. Позднее почитание игумена Тавенниси было утрачено, а традиция об «авторе» Жития св. Онуфрия обрела и определенный агиографический нарратив, и место (монастырь аш-Шама), с которым стали связывать этого святого.
