Фриз Эсквилинского колумбария и его литературный источник
Мосолкин Алексей Владиславович
На живописном фризе (55–35 гг. до н.э.), найденном в Риме на Эсквилине близ Порта Маджоре, изображены сцены из легендарной истории Рима: от прибытия Энея до Ромула и Рема. Вопреки ожиданию картина лишена каких бы то ни было сказочных следов – знамения с белой свиньей при основании Альбы Лонги, фигуры бога Марса в сцене насилия над Реей Сильвией, волчицы, которая вскармливает близнецов. Современные исследователи полагают, что художник шел в русле так называемых «рациональных» историков – Валерия Анциата и Г. Лициния Макра. В статье делается предположение, что фриз является своего рода иллюстрацией не к историческому, а к художественному сочинению. Таковым может быть текст «Анналов» Энния.
