Митридат Пергамский – известный и неизвестный правитель

Статья представляет собой исследование событий из жизни и деятельности Митридата Пергамского. Хронологию событий его жизни помогает установить золотой статер, найденный при раскопках поселения Артезиан в Восточном Крыму. Эта уникальная монета была выпущена в Пергаме в 46 г. до н.э. с портретом и царским титулом самого Митридата и годом по пергамской эре «освобождения» Митридата Евпатора, так как Митридат Пергамский называл себя потомком понтийского царя. На ее оборотной стороне портрет Дейотара Старшего, предшественника Митридата на престоле царя Галатии и галатского племени трокмов. В этот год – год третьего консульства Цезаря, также отмеченного на монете, Цезарь провозгласил Митридата царем трокмов (и, очевидно, всей Галатии), царем Боспора и других земель и дал ему возможность начать поход против узурпировавшего боспорский престол Асандра. На основании находки этой монеты уточняется время данного похода, поражения и гибели Митридата, что произошло не ранее конца 46 – начала 45 г. до н.э. После его поражения Асандр начал чекан своих монет с символикой морской победы над Митридатом Пергамским.
