Марк Лициний Красс и транспаданцы: nimium parcus in largienda civitate?

В статье предпринимается попытка согласовать утверждение Цицерона в речи за Бальба о скупости Красса в вопросах предоставления римского гражданства с господствующем в историографии мнением о том, что из двух цензоров 65 г. именно Красс добивался гражданства для транспаданцев. Автор доказывает, что реплика Цицерона обусловлена тем, что в том же 65 г. Красс поддержал Папиев закон, который был направлен против иноземцев, временно пребывающих в Риме и незаконно присвоивших себе римское гражданство, но делал исключение для транспаданцев. Данная реплика обусловлена полемикой на процессе Бальба: он происходил в суде, созданном Папиевым законом, а защитником Бальба, наряду с Цицероном, выступал Красс.
