Суд над стратегами, одержавшими победу в Аргинусском морском сражении 406 г. до н.э., стал одним из наиболее скандальных эпизодов истории классических Афин. Это событие неоднократно освещалось в исследовательской литературе, однако ряд его аспектов еще требует прояснения. Первая часть статьи начинается с историографического экскурса, в рамках которого особенно детально рассмотрена недавняя большая работа Д. Гиша, целиком посвященная процессу, и указаны имеющиеся в ней серьезные недочеты. Далее следует анализ просопографического материала, относящегося к членам коллегий стратегов в 407–406 гг. до н.э. Подчеркивается, в частности, что военачальники, попавшие под суд, были избраны на смену Алкивиаду, отстраненному с поста стратега-автократора во многом под влиянием эмоций.
