Post hoc или propter hoc? Некоторые размышления о связи между принятием lex Iulia de civitate и восстанием в Этрурии и Умбрии в конце 90 г. до н.э.

В данной статье подробно проанализированы сведения Аппиана и других античных авторов о восстании италийских общин Этрурии и Умбрии и принятии lex Iulia de sociis et Latinis civitate danda с целью установления причинно-следственной связи между этими событиями. Хотя закон Юлия был принят скорее после, чем вследствие восстания Этрурии и Умбрии, причинно-следственная связь между этими событиями все же имела место и заключалась в том, что данное восстание ускорило принятие закона Юлия и повлияло на его итоговое содержание. Закон Юлия предоставлял римское гражданство не только лояльным союзникам, но и так называемым дедитициям. Для последних предусматривалась отдельная процедура: дедитициям, желавшим стать римскими гражданами, надлежало обратиться к городскому претору, который должен был объявить решение сената перед народный собранием, где оно в итоге ратифицировалось.
