Ясон Фессалиец – изобретатель ромбовидного строя конницы?

В статье предполагается, что в тактической традиции, восходящей, как принято думать, к Полибию, изобретателем ромбовидного строя илы считался некий Илеон, чье имя было просто эпонимом илы. Затем, в позднеантичное и ранневизантийское время, неясное имя Илеона было исправлено на близкое по написанию имя Ясона, причем последний отождествлялся с легендарным предводителем аргонавтов. Это мнение продержалось до XIX в., а в дальнейшем Ясоном, о котором идет речь, стал считаться ферский тиран с тем же именем, который действительно занимался тренировкой своих конных и пеших сил для придания им большей боеспособности. Однако, по мнению автора, всё же не он, а Илеон первоначально считался изобретателем ромбовидного строя конницы.
