«Арий, поклоняющийся Ормазду»: к политической биографии шаханшаха Нарсе

Фигура шаханшаха Нарсе (293–302 гг.) является одной из самых колоритных и в то же время самых драматичных среди всех представителей династии Сасанидов. Будучи наиболее вероятным претендентом на корону после смерти своего брата Ормизда-Ардашира (Ормизда I) (272–273 гг.), Нарсе дважды (в 273 и 276 гг.) был оттеснен от трона конкурентами – братом Варахраном I (273–276 гг.) и сыном последнего Ва-рахраном II (276–293 гг.). Все это время Нарсе являлся наместником («царем») важ-ных пограничных провинций сасанидского Ирана: до 273 г. – Сакастана, с 273 по 293 г. – Армении. Стать шаханшахом Нарсе смог только в 293 г., отстранив от власти преемника Варахрана II Варахрана III (293 г.). Правление Нарсе было омрачено поражением Ирана в римско-персидской войне 296–298 гг. и уступкой Риму нескольких областей в Северной Месопотамии. Пользуясь ослаблением Персидской державы, Армянское царство в 301 г. приняло христианство и таким образом окончательно превратилось в противника сасанидского Ирана. Во внутренней политике царствование Нарсе было ознаменовано ослаблением религиозных гонений, направленных против незороастрийцев, возрождением культа богини Анахид и дальнейшим усилением позиций родовой знати. В 302 г. Нарсе, вероятно, отрекся от престола под давлением недовольной его правлением аристократической группировки. Однако считать Нарсе главным виновником бед, обрушившихся в годы его царствования на державу Сасанидов, было бы неверно. Все происходившее в это время во многом являлось итогом разрушительного для Иранского государства двадцатилетнего пребывания у власти его предшественников, и исправить положение одному Нарсе за тот короткий срок, который он находился на троне, вряд ли было под силу.
