Пространство римского мира в “Res gestae divi Augusti”

В статье рассматривается ментально-географическая «карта» римского импери-ализма, представленная в «Деяниях божественного Августа». В результате анализа пространственно-географических категорий, использованных в этом тексте, выясняется, каким образом мыслилось и структурировалось имперское пространство. Представленная в «Деяниях» имперская география искусно продумана в каждой своей детали и, как бы ни расходилась она с реальными историческими обстоятельствами и научно-географическими фактами, преподносится читателю таким образом, чтобы убедить его в том, что Рим властвует над миром и вся его обширная держава создана, защищена и обустроена прежде всего благодаря непревзойденным свершениям и усилиям первого принцепса. Эта география, хотя и использует реальные категории, во многом является имажинальной, символической; в ее рам-ках конкретные географические объекты наделяются определенными идеологиче-скими смыслами, создающими в своей совокупности неотразимое впечатление об imperium sine fine – империи без границ во времени и пространстве. Выделяются пять характерных особенностей тех пространственных характеристик, которые при-сущи римскому миру, представленному в Res gestae. Этот мир представляет собой: 1)динамичное пространство империи, которое вышло далеко за пределы границ республиканского времени;2)«экуменическое» пространство, которое достигает самых дальних пределов ойкумены (orbis terrarum), по сути дела отождествляется с ней; 3)умиротворенное и упорядоченное пространство; 4)пространство дифференцированное, неоднородное и иерархическое с центральным положением Рима и Италии, пространство, в котором первенствующее место занимают римские граж-дане, доминирующие в провинциях и превосходящие все прочие народы; 5)про-странство центростремительное, подчиненное, реально или потенциально, единой воле и ориентированное на одно лицо – принцепса.
