«Ангел милосердия»: коптская рецепция образа архангела Михаила

В данной статье на основе коптских апокрифических, гомилетических, агиографических и магических текстов рассматриваются представления, сложившиеся об архангеле Михаиле у египтян-христиан. По преданию Коптской церкви, главный праздник в честь архангела отмечается 21 ноября и связан с его поставлением во главе небесных сил после отпадения Сатаны. Особые священные атрибуты, такие как венец радости, мантия света, посох истины, подчеркивают высокий статус этого архангела. Анализ материала выделяет различные сферы деятельности архистратига. Многие из них засвидетельствованы в разных традициях, иные – аутентичны для каких-то из них. Сравнение коптского и греческого предания позволяет четче определить особенности египетской традиции. По коптским текстам, Михаил исцеляет мучеников во время пыток, поддерживает епископов в изгнании, смягчает наказание для грешников в аду, помогает простым христианам. От паствы же ожидается милосердие по отношению к нуждающимся. Широкое почитание архангела коптами основано на вере в его особое покровительство как каждому христианину, так и Египту в целом. Он в течение трех дней и ночей молит Бога о разливе Нила. Однако почитание Михаила отличается чрезмерностью, против которой выступают некоторые коптские авторы.
