Плиний и восточные рубежи Ойкумены

В статье рассматриваются содержащиеся в "Естественной истории" сведения о Дальнем Востоке. Автор предлагает, в частности, следующие идентификации: Tabis – горный хребет Корейского полуострова (Тэбэк); реки "страны серов" и Юго-Восточной Азии: Psitharas – Хуанхэ, Cambari – Янцзы (река Чан), Lanos – Меконг (река Лань), Atianos – Иравади. Реки Cainnas и Prinas он пытается найти в бассейне Брахмапутры. Информация обо всех реках, очевидно, связана с функционированием Великого Шелкового пути, но также с сухопутными дорогами, ведущими из Северо-Восточной Индии и Бирмы в Юго-Западный Китай.
