The Reflection of Ancient Christian Themes and Motifs in Coptic Martyrdoms

The article analyzes specifi c features of the Coptic hagiographic tradition whose literature was based on Greek patterns but still remained unique. Characters, themes and motifs in question represent an original remake of Christian ‘topoi’ by Coptic hagiographer.
