Ancient Sources on Central Asia and Their Interpretation (Apropos of Two Works by F. Grenet and С. Rapiri)

The article presents a critical analysis of a paprer by F. Grenet and С Rapin, dedicated to the problems of historical geography of Central Asia (especially of Bactria and Sogdiana) in ancient times. The author indicates that the starting points of their reconstructions were artifi- cial and therefore their conclusions are not convincing.
