Some Characteristic Features of the Commemorative Inscriptions of Hatra

The paper is devoted to some characteristic features of the commemorative texts found in Hatra and some specific terms used in them. The author also traces parallels between the inscriptions and invocations used by other Semites. The present paper does not cover all the characteristics of invocation in the Hatra inscriptions, but, as the author hopes, throws new light on some of the most significant terms used in prayers of the local population in the first cc. AD.
