In 1900 a sepulchre was discovered accidentally near the stanitsa Akhtanizovskaya in the Taman peninsula. This archaeological monument was named «The Akhtanizovsk buried treasure», because articles made of gold and silver prevailed among the finds. Scholars differ at the date of the adornments, vessels, details of harness, helmet and, accordingly, the whole of sepulchre. To all appearance, the Akhtanizovsk complex dates from the end of the 2nd – the first half of the 1st century BC. Probably, the Buerova Mogila and Merdzhany date from the same period.
