The article offers the publication of a gold overlay on a wooden vessel, now in the collection of The State Hermitage. The plate originates from one of the mounds in the Semikolennye Kurgany complex on the Shakhan plateau near Maykop. Stylistic analysis makes it possible to attribute it to the Near Eastern ornamental tradition and to date it to ca. 625–600 BC.
