Antique Gems and Coins in South-East Asia: Recent Finds

Laptev Sergey V.

The author discusses the antique gems and coins found in Thailand and Cambodia in recent years. Although the traces of antique culture were discovered in South-East Asia as far back as in the 1940-s, their fi nds used to be limited by the Mekong delta, namely, the area of Okeo site (South Vietnam). The recent fi nds not only considerably broaden the territory of expansion and the typology of antique items from South-East Asia, but also make it possible to study the ways of antique infl uence and its correlation with other cultures.
